Hostel Tommy Jongno - Seoul

The location is fantastic, just five minutes from Changdeokgung Palace and a short walk to Jongno station. The bathroom features a strong water heater, perfect for cold weather, and the common area has a relaxed, homey vibe that encourages guest interaction.

The main entrance door isn't locked late at night, giving a slight security concern. My room had a bit of a damp feel, which wasn't ideal but manageable.

Staying at Hostel Tommy was a real pleasure. The atmosphere felt cute right from the start. Tommy and Nicholas really went out of their way to offer useful tips about the area. The location was unbeatable. Just a short walk to Jongno 3-ga subway station and several palaces. I loved having a 7-Eleven conveniently located right downstairs for quick snacks. Breakfast included simple options like cereal and toast, fine. I particularly enjoyed the common area where I could relax and enjoy a cup of coffee while meeting other travelers. One drawback was the room cleaning schedule. It was stated to occur every third day, but my room wasn't cleaned during my four-night stay. While I could collect fresh towels from reception, I wished for more attention to housekeeping. I had a wonderful time and would love to come back.

Hostel Tommy is a culinary dream, with Jalppajin Ikseon just 0.3 km away for amazing eats and fresh goodies! Plus, the cozy common area boasts strong Wi-Fi for catching up with fellow travelers. Can't forget to mention how sweet Tommy was when he took care of me on my last day. He's like your Korean uncle!

The only hiccup was towel size-bring your own big ones for comfort, as small towels are the norm.

Solid selection for a short stayover in Seoul with excellent value. The staff were helpful when I had questions about local attractions. Make sure to explore the nearby food markets for authentic meals.

I loved the comfortable bed and the cozy lounge area where I could meet other travelers. The free massage chair was an unexpected treat after a long day exploring. Just a heads up, the towels are on the smaller side, so you might want to bring your own for a bit more comfort 😊

A Great Stay with Room for Improvement

My solo trip was made nice by the friendly staff and vibrant atmosphere. The nearby convenience store and BBQ restaurants were perfect for quick meals post-sightseeing. While there were minor hiccups with my stay modification, the location near Jongno3(sam)-ga station was fantastic for exploring the city. Pro tip, take advantage of local street foods!

The location of the hostel was also very convenient, with easy access to the metro and plenty of nearby restaurants. Breakfast is included, with options like eggs, bread, coffee, and Nutella.

The bed in the room is quite firm, which may not be comfortable for everyone.
